Sacramento State Skill Management Center

The Skill Management Center is powered by CView, a Web-based tool that provides an interactive visual representation of how an employee's skills and background compare to the requirements for a job. Employees can easily create a CView and compare themselves to the typical requirements of more than 1,000 jobs that span more than 40 industries. A visual representation of an employee's overall fit and/or readiness for a job, CView empowers managers and employees to immediately act on assessment data.

CView Features:

Job Requirement Visualization:
CView technology allows employers to set and visualize their minimum requirements for a job. Skill, knowledge, work experience, and personality traits are displayed as wedges within a circle. The width of the wedge is determined by the importance the employer places on each requirement of the job.
Job Fit Measurement:
Management can instantly compare an employee's CView against the requirements of a job to see the total job fit measurement, which is provided as a percentage score. With the click of a mouse, each segment of the CView can be analyzed to determine specific strengths and weaknesses.
Benchmark Comparisons:
As employees build CViews for different jobs, managers can determine performance benchmarks. Managers can superimpose the benchmarks of their top and average performers, as well as the minimum job requirements they set, over a specific employee's CView. These comparisons further facilitate promotion, placement and training decisions.
Skill Gap Identification:
When employee CViews are compared to benchmarks, skill gaps are displayed as white sections. A simple click on the white section will present learning recommendations to address this gap. Both managers and employees can immediately access training recommendations.
Optional Customization: Job requirements have been compiled and are continually updated based on current labor market data and industry research, and in consultation with human resource and industry experts. As jobs vary from company to company, the typical requirements can be customized to reflect those of the organization.
